Introduction

IPL 2023 final match was played between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans on 29 May at Narendra Modi Stadium Ahmedabad. CSK won the 16th season IPL trophy and became the champion for 5th time. In this article we will see the list of Awards in IPL 2023 given to various players for their outstanding performance. Winner of IPL 2023: Champion CSK

Chennai Super Kings is the Champion of 16th season of the IPL. CSK won the IPL 2023 Champion trophy on 29 May at famous Narendra Modi Stadium Ahmedabad. CSK was at 9th position in last season but they made to win the trophy in this season under the captainship of Mr. Finisher Mahendra Singh Dhoni. CSK have won the IPL trophy in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021 & 2023; a total of 5 times.

Gujarat Titans team pickup the runner up trophy of IPL 2023 in 16th season. GT was on the top of the point table with total 20 points. The team was captained by Hardik Pandya. GT have won the IPL trophy in 2022 but they fails to win in 2023.

Shubman Gill of the Gujarat Titans made a total of 890 runs in IPL 2023 and win the Orange Cap award of 16th season. Gill have played total of 17 matches with a average of 59.33 & strike rate of 157.80; he has made 3 centuries and 4 fifties in this season to win orange cap. Total 85 fours & 33 sixes hits by Shubman Gill throughout the season for Gujarat Titans but unfortunately they are not able to pick-up the IPL 2023 finals trophy.

Purple Cap Awards in IPL 2023

Purple cap award of 16th season of IPL is won by Mohammad Shami. He has took a total of 28 wickets and made his team Gujarat Titans into the finals. Shami was unable to took any wicket in the IPL 2023 final match Chennai Super Kings. He has played 17 matches with the economy rate of 8.03. Shami given 522 runs in 65 overs throughout the season. He was ahead of his teammates Rashid Khan & Mohit Sharma with 27 wickets each.

Fair Play award of IPL 2023 is given to the Delhi Capitals. This award is given to the teams on basis of their game play on the field. The teams are given points by the umpires. Total 3 umpires; 2 on-field and 3rd umpire award points to the teams  & on the basis of total points throughout the season, the teams are given Fair Play award. In the 16th season of the Tata IPL Fair Play award is given to the Delhi Capitals with 141 points.

Rashid Khan received the award of Best catch of the season Awards in IPL 2023. Khan is the All Rounder of Gujarat Titans and played well for the team, but will regret to took no wicket in final match with Chennai Super Kings. Rashid Khan took the best catch of Kyle Mayers in 51th match of IPL on 7 May at famous Narendra Modi Stadium. Rashid was also in the race of Purple alongwith Mohit Sharma his teammate with 27 wickets each.

Longest Six of the Season Awards in IPL 2023

The longest six of the season was hit by Royal Challengers Bangalore Batter Faf Du Plessis. He received the longest Six of the Season Awards in IPL 2023 of 16th season. Plessis hits a 115 meters long six in M Chinnaswamy Stadium, against Lucknow Super Giants on the ball of Ravi Bishnoi in 15th over. Faf scores fifty in 35 balls and scored a total of 3500 runs in IPL so far in the same match. After such a tremendous game play RCB was unable to qualify for the finals. Faf du Plessis was on the 2nd in race of Orange Cap with 730 runs. Plessis is also on the top in list of most 50s with total 8 fifties.

The best venue of the season award is jointly given to the Eden Gardens and Wankhede Stadium. Eden Gardens is the home ground of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Wankhede Stadium is the home ground of Mumbai Indians(MI). Kolkata won the IPL trophy 2 times in 2012 and 2014. While Mumbai have won the IPL trophy for 5 times in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 & 2020.
